Metro Centennial Mural

This year, 2005 marks the 100 year anniversary of Las Vegas. The City of Las Vegas is having a 100 mural project where, 100 murals will be painted at different locations throughout the city. Our police department is doing a mural in conjunction the the City's project. This will be a mobile mural painted on 2, 4 x 8 ft canvases. This image is the design I created using various photos and designed in Photoshop CS. It was accepted by the City to represent our department and its 100 year history. The badges form a timeline with associated images reflecting that era. The change in art form, from black and white, to sepia, to poster-cut, then pop and finally to vivid realism also reflects the changing times.

The mural will be painted using acrylic and will be completed around September. I will post the final mural when it is finished.
