Have any of you ever had a CT-Mylogram? They insert a needle into your spinal canal and shoot dye into the fluid. The dye then travels to the area they want to examin, then they do a CT or CAT scan. As the dye travels up the spinal canal and enters the cervical area, you can develope sever headaches from the dye...until they get the dye going in the opposite direction then the headaches subside. Another side affect is; when they remove the needle, if the hole does not close up you have spinal fluid leakage which causes Very sever spinal headaches from the release of preasure. I'm talking headaches more sever than migrains. These headaches can bring a truck driver to tears.

Well, I went to work the day after my mylogram last week. I had been having headaches since the proceedure but not too bad. A headache hit me and I went into the restroom....yes...in tears. I was nausiated and balling like a baby. I litterally felt like I was having an aneurysm and ready to die. I couldn't stand it any longer and walked into my sargents office in the same state. After laying down and placing ice on my head, I was driven home where I rested the next day....until it happened all over again. This time I had to drive myself the the emergency room, to which I was afraid to do so but knew I needed to go. See, several years ago my friend ahd a sever headache, went to the hospital and two days later, he did die...from an aneurysm. With that mental idea, I was hesitant in going. After explaining to them what I had gone through the last few days and the proceedure I had done, they susspected I was having spinal fluid leakage. The next day, they did whats called a "blood patch" where they take your own blood and shoot it over the area that the mylogram was done. When the blood coagulates, it closes the hole, stopping the spinal fluid leak. The next day...I was better, no headache...at least not from that.

I'm telling you, if it's going to happen to someone...it's going to happen to me. But low, I rather it be upon me...than on a friend.

We all begin somewhere, no matter the craft or endeavor that we undertake. Like our children, we always hope that students and fellow artists become better than ouselves, this means that they are learning and understanding the painting process. Don't just dream it....BELIEVE IT!! Believe, then Achieve.
